Help! Trauma is Impacting Our Students
Our students, families, and districts face many challenges of complexity that impact their mental health. In addition, these challenges externalize through behaviors which then show up in the classroom and at home. This training will look at reasons behind disproportionality, suspension rates, and servicing students of color from the lens of intersectionality between trauma and equity. Participants will gain experiential understanding in the "why" behind the low attendance rates and high suspension rates. Participants will also learn strategies to bridge the gap between unwanted externalized behaviors and gain applicable tools to increase rapport and relationship. We will discuss the tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 and tier 4 students and how to best support all students through Trauma Informed Care
