This session will provide you with background and parameters on when and why schools and school personnel can search students and students' cell phones.  If you are unaware of student rights, then you may put your district at risk of an ACLU civil rights claim.  Many times staff simply do things because that is the way they have always been done.  Students have rights, make sure you are not violating those rights!
